Ad hoc, bank and casual security shifts

Flexible security work for SIA licence holders who want extra shifts, relief cover or event work around other commitments.

KBG security officer: ad hoc and bank security shifts

How ad hoc and bank security shifts work

Our bank of relief officers covers holidays, sickness, short term contracts and events. You tell us when you are available, and we offer you shifts that fit. You can accept or turn down each one.

Before your first shift on any site you receive the assignment instructions, and our control room supports you through the shift, just as it does for our full time officers.

Casual security jobs that fit around you

Casual security work suits students, people with another job, and experienced officers who want to choose their hours. Shifts come up at short notice and planned in advance, during the week and at weekends.

  • Relief cover on static guarding sites.
  • Event security and stewarding at stadiums, festivals and community events.
  • Door supervision at pubs, bars and clubs on busy nights.
  • Short notice emergency cover after a break in or alarm.

What you need

  • A valid SIA licence, or an application in progress.
  • The right to work in the UK and a five year history for BS 7858 vetting.
  • A phone you answer, and a reliable way to get to sites near you.

Yes. Many of our permanent officers and supervisors started on ad hoc shifts.

Do I need a car for casual security shifts?

Not always. Some sites are on bus and train routes. Tell us how you travel when you apply and we will offer shifts you can reach.
