The challenge

What actually goes wrong

Security risk assessment security officer on duty

Most people buy security after something has gone wrong, and most security companies quote for guards because guards are what they sell. The result is often the wrong cover: too many hours where the risk is low, and nothing at all where it is high.

We start with a walk round your site with you. We look at the boundary, the entrances, the lighting, the cameras, the alarm, how keys are managed and what has happened before. Then we write it up: what the risks are, what we would change, and the lightest mix of people and technology that would deal with them.

Paying for the wrong cover

Guards where cameras would do, or patrols where a guard is needed, wastes money and leaves gaps.

Hidden weak points

Back gates, unlit corners and old locks are easy to overlook when you see the site every day.

Insurance and compliance

Insurers, landlords and new laws like Martyn’s Law increasingly expect documented risk assessments.

Repeat incidents

Without understanding how the last loss happened, the same thing tends to happen again.

  2. Free site survey

We walk the site and look at access, lighting, blind spots and what is worth protecting.

  3. Written plan and price

Hours, officer profile, patrol routes and reporting, set out line by line.

  4. Officers on site

Briefed on your site rules and checked in with our control room through every shift.

Security risk assessment: your questions

Cannot see your question? Call us on 0845 388 0348, any time of day.

What is a security risk assessment?

It is a structured look at what you need to protect, the threats to it and the weak points in your current security, followed by practical recommendations. It gives you a sound basis for spending on security.

Is the site survey free?

Yes. We carry out a free site survey before pricing any security service. Ask us about a fuller written assessment if you need one for an insurer, landlord or board.

Do you assess events?

Yes. We produce event risk assessments covering crowd management, search, staffing and emergency planning, including Martyn’s Law considerations.

Will you just recommend guards?

No. Recommendations cover lighting, locks, fencing, procedures, CCTV and alarms as well as people. Sometimes the answer is fewer guarding hours, not more.

How long does a security risk assessment take?

The site walk usually takes a few hours depending on the size of the site. We then send the written findings.
